“Since Jenn and I started our weekly sessions (sometimes 2X a week) I have found a new sense of confidence in my jiu-jitsu and in speaking my truth."
Jiu-Jitsu Purple belt instructor, Megan Hardesty.
My mission continues to grow with a foundation rooted in assisting and guiding women into an empowered version of themselves. On or off the mat my focus is helping women struggling with their own self-worth. I help women overcome trauma by building confidence through my Mindfulness and Trauma informed approach through She-Jitsu.
With 14 years of experience on the mat, I have dedicated 12 years to cultivating my skills as an instructor and spent over a decade focused on my own personal growth through overcoming my own internal battles of trauma, I understand what holds us back can also set us free.
Empowering women on and off the mat
She-jitsu is more than an athletic event.
It goes way deeper.
In the She-Jitsu seminars, we do not teach techniques that require a lot of strength and energy. That’s why this information is so important for women, because it is designed for all levels of athletic ability to learn and apply.
Jiu-jitsu or self defense of any kind is Physical, but self defense starts way before an assault gets physical. Verbal and mental self defense are rarely spoken about, but those two aspects are the most important when learning how to defend ourselves.
When you understand how predators operate and the simple concepts, guidelines, and principles to follow to start defending ourselves in the here and now, not only can you lower your risk of assault, you can learn how to build healthy relationships built on respect, healthy boundaries, and healthy communication.
These guidelines and principles can prevent us from falling into an abusive relationship and also help us determine whether or not we are presently in an abusive relationship.
This course is designed for all levels of fitness & first time students are welcome.
No matter your size, age, or athletic ability, you can defend yourself, and we guarantee to lead you into a stronger, safer, & more confident life!

As a blue belt, Jenn was one of the first to attended the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Instructors Certification Program and the Gracie Women Empowered Instructor Program. She began adapting the philosophies she learned through the Gracie University and combined them with her own Mindfulness practices she established as she was on her own healing journey through recovery from addiction and CPTSD.
Her story has been in the public eye and the interest of many students and instructors around the world as she's learned to maneuver through the traumas in her life and transform her practice to help others in a trauma based approached.
Her methods and story has been published in magazines and news articles, such as Women in Business, Gorgo Fitness, and Meditation Magazine.
After almost losing her life to trauma and addiction, she was able to turn her life around and create a thriving life of beauty and abundance.
With the odds stacked against her, she went to war with what she calls,
“The enemy within,” and she won. She survived and is living to tell her story and help others fight the war within themselves.
Her mission fuels her fire and she now spreads her knowledge through online coaching.
